On the Day After Thanksgiving We are doing the short version of a Yellow Jackets Ride out in the central valley.  The goal is some great viewing of the Sand Hill Cranes which Winter at the Consumes River Preserve.  We will start in Walnut Grove on the Sacramento River and ride east beyond highway #5 to the preserve and back.  Bring a camera if you like.

We will meet at 10:00 AM and roll at 10:15 AM.  Friday November 25.

Pace is T, M and a flat 25 miles

Starting point is the Dr. Paul Barnes Community Park, off #160 in Walnut Grove at Theater St. and Grove St.  From River St. just across from the #160 Bridge, go down the hill on Theater St.
Google maps estimates travel time from Fremont to be about an hour and a half, presuming no problems on the drive.

Attached is the RWGPS route sheet link;  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41483141

We can discuss food option at the start.
The OYJ group usually get lunch at he Chevron a the turn onto Thornton Rd. in Thornton, and takes it to the preserve three miles up the road where there are picnic tables. This is good if you are doing a longer version of the route, however I lean to trying Fat Lou’s Cafe at the end of the ride in Walnut Grove.
