Now is the time to volunteer.  Distance rides are already sold out and your help is needed to make our 50^thanniversary Primavera a success.  The ride is a way for us to give back to the cycling community.  It is also FFBC’s only fundraiser, which we weren’t able to hold in 2020 or 2021.  The Primavera funds all club rides and events, including pizza rides, meetings, the picnic, and the holiday party. It also lets FFBC donate to local community and cycling charities.  

Volunteers get to do the Workers’ Ride on the Primavera route complete with rest stops and SAG support. They also get to attend the swanky Workers’ pizza party/picnic and receive a stylish worker’s T-shirt and assorted valuable swag.  Volunteers are welcome to gorge on rest stop food.  Those who work two shifts (highly encouraged) are welcome to a food truck meal at the high school.  

Volunteers don’t have to be club members but do need to be vaccinated.  Masks will be required for volunteers and riders when not riding, eating, or drinking.  If you’re not vaccinated, email me for a non-contactassignment.

Note that we’ve combined some roles from previous years into single roles, especially at the high school.  The distance routes have changed because of Niles Canyon construction.  Riders will ride Calaveras Road both ways rather than returning on Palomares.  Instead of a Palo Verde rest stop, the Ed Levin (or possibly Spring Valley Fire) rest stop will stay open all day.  Two shifts are needed there.  We’ve also added a water stop at the false summit on Calaveras.  If you already volunteered, please check the signup website for changes.
