moderated Calaveras Rd road closure to the false summit

Dennis Dong <ronincopp@...>

Happy Labor Day weekend!  Today, I rode up Calaveras Rd with the intent to ride up to the false summit from Felter Rd.  Calaveras Rd is currently closed at the Alameda County border to the false summit through next week.  According to the work crew, they are repaving the road ONLY on the Alameda County side.  They also advised that Calaveras Road will be completely open to vehicle traffic on schedule, October 1st (Monday).

Hello, FFBC members.  It seems that not everyone is using the subgroups on this email list so I am sending this to the general info list.  So far, there are only 6 people subscribing to the forsale@ffbc.groups.io list.  If you want to take advantage of the subgroups that have been created, forsale, offers, discussion, you can sign up for these specific groups at:

If we don't take advantage of these subgroups, then everyone will simple send all messages to the broader info group and we will all simply get a lot of messages we aren't interested in reading....

Anyhow, enough with the public service part of the message....

I am selling an E-Bike that I purchased about 9 months ago.  It has probably less than 200 miles and is like new complete with a fender kit.  It's a perfect city commuter bike complete with integrated lights, fenders and a rugged and reliable rear motor drive.  The bike has an integrated cellular modem with bluetooth communications with a Flashbike phone app, which reports GPS position, battery state, etc, much like a Tesla App for tesla vehicles.  Being a MTB type layout with flat bars, the bike can fit people from between about 5'4" to 6'2".

Battery range is from 24 to 60 miles per charge depending upon power setting and terrain and rider effort.

Info and Specs here:

I am asking for $1000 or best reasonable offer.  Please contact me at my personal email:

Hello Tour de Fuzz Riders,

We are fast approaching one of the best rides of the year on Saturday, September 8th!  The Tour de Fuzz (https://www.tourdefuzz.org)  is sold out but if you want to come and didn't sign up in time, here is a way to get notified of any openings: tour de fuzz courtesy notification.

Please fill out the following Google document (FFBC Fun at the Fuzz) to let me know the usual (which route you're planning, if/where you're staying, your cell, arrival and departure day,  if you're coming to the potluck, what you are bringing, etc).  Or, if spreadsheets aren't your thing, just send me a text or an email with the info.  Please fill out the document or send me the information even if you are just joining us for the day/  We can still meet you at the start, look for you on the road, at the rest stops and eat together at the finish plus then I can try to talk you into stopping by for the potluck.

The potluck will be at the same location as last year, Best Western Wine Country Inn and Suites: 870 Hopper Avenue, Santa Rosa.  Last year it worked out well with Julie taking a $10 donation and ordering pizza (in lieu of a potluck item).  Is anyone willing to organize the pizza part of it this year?  We will have cake for Walt's birthday!

I'm looking forward to seeing our beautiful, bright orange FFBC jerseys on the roads of the wine country.

John Martin <washo715@...>

Hey FFBC Members!

For all of you beer drinkers with a riding problem, I have a solution, this Friday Aug 24th will be the last Das Brew beer ride for the summer. Come out and enjoy a short 18 mile ride, then enjoy some beer and sausages or any snacks that you care to bring and possibly share with fellow hungry riders. We will be meeting at 6pm and plan a 6:15pm start. If you prefer to just drink, you can meet us around 7:45 when we return or just hang out and get a head start on the brew while the rest of us ride. Das Brew is located on South Grimmer near Fremont Blvd.

Hope to see you there!!

Good Morning,
The sign-in sheet from June 21 has gone missing!  It was the 29 mile route from Sprouts to Mission Coffee and back. Please check your ride log and let me know if you were there.  If you just think you were probably on the ride let me know too, I'll add you.  I apologize for my poor record keeping skills.  I vow to take a picture of the sign-in sheet at the beginning of the ride and reminders would be appreciated in order to avoid this in the future.

Hi FFBC Members,

Would anyone like to join me on this ride put on by Alameda Parks and Recreation? 25 miles. My dragon boat team, the Alameda Dragon Flyers, is signing up for the Team Challenge and we'd like you to join us (we won't make you paddle - this time.) Please reply to me directly if you are interested.  There is BBQ and a beer garden at the end of the ride for those so inclined.

Lori Sommer

Ride Info:

There are two ride options, both begin and end at the baseball field at upper Washington Park:

• 25-mile bike ride along the perimeter of Alameda
• 8-mile kids bike ride to and from Osborne Model Airfield Park in Bayfarm Island

The 25-mile bike route goes around Alameda, Bayfarm Island, and the former Naval Air Base. Most of the ride showcases shoreline views of the San Francisco bay area. The pace is leisurely, and designed to appeal to riders of all ages and fitness levels. You can do it!

The 8-mile kids bike route uses Shoreline Drive protected bike lanes, Bayfarm Bike Bridge, and a bike and pedestrian path to the Osborne Model Airfield Park. This is our first designated rest-stop, where snacks and beverages are provided. Riders will ride back from where they began to join our after-party.

The ride will have multiple rest-stops, all fully-stocked with fruit, snacks, and beverages. Bathrooms are also provided throughout the route.

A support vehicle also offers free bike repairs and pickups if those who cannot complete the ride. Police and volunteers will be stationed along the route to ensure a fun and safe ride for riders of all skill levels.

Party info:

We will end at Washington Park for our after-party – please join us whether you ride or not.

DJ mixing classic jams and sounds!

BBQ featuring free food for all participants!

A Beer Garden where people can enjoy a cold beer at the post ride party!
