A big thanks to Andy and the whole Primavera committee for all the effort they put into Primavera already, and for the thoughtfulness put into this decision.

Mega bummer! 😳  Why not just reschedule for the Fall, like Sea Otter did?

Route/Start Change - Thursday Morning Coffee Ride

Lori Sommer

Hello Thursday Coffee Riders,

Due to the two BART trips planned, I'm postponing the "Ken's Two Bridges" ride.  I'm sorry to disappoint people that already let me know they were taking the time off to join us for this wonderful ride.  I'm disappointed too.

I was just going to change the route to something out of Castro Valley (where people are able to drive or ride to the start) but everything is so unsettled at the moment that I'm reluctant.  I just saw the news that the Governor has asked seniors to stay at home.  I'm not sure what will change by Thursday so I'm just putting the start back to Sprouts.

We will wait and see and hope for the best.

Lori

WhereSprouts Farmers Market, 6399 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560, USA (map)
DescriptionLength: 25-35 miles
Terrain: 2, 3; Pace: T, M

Wear a FFBC club jersey and let's stay close to home. We will meet at Sprouts located in the former Raley's Shopping Center (6399 Jarvis Ave, Newark).

We will mainly stay in Fremont but ride through Newark and sometimes Union City and Milpitas on occasion. Sometimes the climbing is optional. We always stop for coffee and riders are welcome to head back on their own if they know the way. Usually we ride without route sheets so we regroup as necessary and no one is left behind. Bring $ for lunch.

Extreme temperatures, construction or the whim of the ride leader may modify the route. Rain cancels, check https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics, email or call! me!

Primavera Workers' Ride: Ride Leaders, Workers & SAGs Needed

Barry

Even though the Primavera's status is uncertain, we are still planning to go ahead with the workers' rides on April 11.  To participate, you still need to sign up to volunteer for the Primavera at Primavera – Volunteers.

We still need a volunteer for the Muirwood rest stop and two more SAGs.  You may sign up for these critical roles at
Primavera – Volunteers.

We need several ride leaders!

  • 25 Mile Fun Ride: L & T paces
  • 100K: M, B & F paces (and an M- pace if someone is interested)
  • 85M: M, B & F paces
  • 100M: M+, B, & F paces (Donna and I cover the M pace)

Please contact me directly at baruch.saeed@... if you are willing to be a ride leader.  Let me know which distance and pace, and provide your preferred mobile number and email for the calendar.

Thanks!

Barry

CCRS #9 - Calaveras The Wall and Back

Kevin McDonnell

This Saturday, weather permitting, is the 9th ride in the Cinderella Conditioning Ride Series. If the rain holds off we are in for a treat,  riding out to The Wall and back from our start at the Raleys on Sunol Blvd. in Pleasanton. This is a mostly an out and back ride, we go out Foothill to Sunol but come back Pleasanton Sunol Road, and there will be no coffee stop. Make sure to bring enough water and snacks to get through the whole ride.

Details of the ride, including a route sheet and the RideWithGPS link are on the FFBC Calendar.

As far as the weather is concerned, the current forecasts have at 60-70% chance of rain for Saturday morning in Sunol. Since weather forecasts can change, we’ll take a wait and see approach before cancelling the ride. Expect an email from Jennifer or me by 7am on Saturday morning if the ride has been cancelled. No email means the ride is on.

K.

Sorry you got rained out today.  Please feel welcome to come join our LAS #5 Old Tunnel Road ride tomorrow.   You can take BART from Castro Valley to reduce climbing and elevation.  Check the calendar for details. Vanessa thinks you'll have fun.
