Today's 3/4/22 Friday Bike Club Ride Is Canceled
Al Quintana
I'm sorry for the late notice, but I thought we'd be able to ride this morning until just a couple of minutes ago. However, it's still drizzling, and the roads will be wet. I'm canceling the ride, which now becomes a Show and Go. If you decide to ride, please
be careful.

Re: TMCR - Reminder!
Lori Sommer
Good Morning, The good news is that it is raining. The bad news is that the TMCR is canceled and turns into a S&G. Sorry for the late notice. I checked the forecast at 5:30am and no rain was forecast all day long. I was surprised when Debbie let me know it was raining. See you next week. TMCR - Reminder!
Lori Sommer
Hello Thursday Riders, So far the rain looks to be coming in at 1PM. Someone can volunteer to wear a rain jacket so the rain will hold off until we are back. 😀 We can shorten the route. Hope to see you tomorrow, 9:30AM at REI. Lori Thursday, 3 March WhenThu, 3 March, 09:30 – 13:30 WhereREI, 43962 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, USA (map) DescriptionLength: 34 miles (with shortcuts of -17mi, -7mi, -5mi, -3mi) Terrain: 2, 3; Pace: T, M Since REI isn't open, please use the facilities at Starbucks or wait until we reach the more familiar Jose Higuera Adobe in Milpitas. We are riding to Alum Rock along the beautiful foothills. This is a route with lots of flexibility - to push yourself or take it easy and stretch your legs - whichever you like. I've updated the regroup point to Jose Higuera Adobe at mile 6. Take Shortcut 1 directly to coffee and cut your mileage by 17. Shortcut 2 cuts out 7 miles if you choose to ride to the park entrance (restrooms) then turn around.. Or you may go directly to the set of restrooms at the Youth Center and cut out 5 miles and significant climbing using Shortcut 3. You may continue on the route, decide to skip Miguelito and only do Inspiration Loop (Shortcut 4, -3miles) or you may be in great shape and do the whole 34miles! Please review the route sheet in advance and be prepared to follow your plan as I won't be chasing anyone down. Better yet, find a friend with the same plan and stick together. Let me know if you have any questions. No one left behind. If you want to do climbing, consider turning around when you see the faster riders returning OR bring yourself to coffee on your own. We will have lunch at Starbucks/Noah's Bagels ($) before heading back on a flat route, with no regroups. Here's the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36509921 Please print the attached cue sheet and put my cell number in your phone in advance. DISCLAIMERS: This is a no drop ride but the group can be on the larger side and will break up as we progress along the route especially as it is a T/M ride. Riders are expected to be proficient in following their route sheet or using their GPS in case they are separated. We will wait at regroups for all riders. Extreme temperatures, poor air quality, park closure, construction, rain and/or high winds, or the whim of the ride leader may modify or cancel the route. Check here for updates: info@ffbc.groups.io. March Ride Calendar
Thanks February ride leaders!
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered for the Primavera! It'a a fun event and the main source of funding for FFBC. If you haven't signed up, the Primavera still needs volunteers. There are several options and days to choose from so hopefully you can find something that fits your interest and schedule. And you don't have to be a FFBC member to volunteer; family and friends are welcome. Anyone who volunteers, including family and friends, is eligible to participate in one of the workers rides on April 3. Here's the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/ Our March ride calendar is in good shape. Please note two important changes:

Tour de Hills Postponed to Thursday
The weather apps disagree about whether there will be showers today, but they all agree on double-digit winds with gusts in the mid-20 mph range. Let’s push the ride out to Thursday. The ride calendar reflects the change.

PRS#8 - Tour of Livermore (another version)

Just wanted to share with everyone that the B ride today was surrounded by cherry blossom along part of the route in Dublin and San Ramon along Dougherty Road. It’s just beautiful. Should go check it out if time allows.
Again, it was a beautiful ride with a fun group.
