Mid-Week Morning Ride Canceled

Al Quintana

It looks like we weren't lucky on the timing of these showers moving through the area this morning, so I'm canceling the Mid-Week Morning Ride. It now becomes a Show and Go.

Be safe,

Al Quintana

Time change for Thursday Morning Coffee Ride

Ronald L. Mitchell

The ride leaders for the TMCR have agreed to move the start time for the Thursday Morning Coffee ride to 9:00 AM.
This starts with this Thursday’s ride from Bernal Park in Pleasanton.
We expect it will make it easier to get to the rides with the fall rise in traffic since school started, and be a bit warmer during the ride.

Los Altos/Purissima/Elena Ride with a twist this Sat 9/17/2022 - M Pace

mbrasseur00

This Saturday, 9/17/22, Louis and will lead a M pace ride to Los Altos by way of Purissima and Elena. We will have a little addition for this ride. Just before the coffee break we will take a little side ride (less than a mile) to a redwood grove in Los Altos that my wife found and we visited. In my opinion it is really amazing little grove of redwoods. Then on to coffee break in Los Altos at Le Boulanger.

This is a nice ride through some hills of Los Altos. Bring $$ for coffee and snacks.

All riders must be fully vaccinated.

Meet you at Sprouts parking lot in Newark at 9:00am with wheels rolling at 9:15am.

Please check the ride listing in the Ride Calendar for the ridewithgps route and the cuesheet. Please print the cue sheet for the ride as the ride leaders will not have any copies.

Hope to see you there,
Mike and Louis

Das Brew #6 (Fri) & Dosa Ride(Sat)

Vijai Soori

Dear freewheelers!
With the summer heat at it’s peak(hopefully cooling off later in the week), what’s a better way to wind down on Friday than with a bike ride that starts and ends at Das Brew? This Friday’s Ride starts a little earlier at 5:45 PM, is 18.6 mi,  T-M paced “No Drop” ride that will work you up enough to hopefully earn your beer calories.

And then on Saturday I think we have the very first edition of a “Dosa Ride” aka Indian savory crepes (optional towards the end). This is an opportunity for you to bring someone that doesn’t bike with a group but can benefit from the company. This is also a T,M paced No Drop ride meant to encourage people to bike. Now …does biking mix well with savory crepes at the end? I certainly think so but you should join and prove me otherwise :)

I am looking forward to seeing many of you there!

In anticipation of a good turnout for the Labor Day/Monday Morning Recovery Ride on September 5th, we are trying something a little different.  We will have three separate rides.

There will be:
A 'Brisk' ride led by Tim O'Hara (with potentially some additional miles)
A 'Moderate' ride led by Robin O'Hara and Steven Muramoto
A 'Leisurely/Touring' ride led by Rob Tashjian

We will meet across the street from the Isherwood staging area as usual at 8:30am to sign-in.  We will roll out in stages starting with the Brisk group at 8:44am, followed by the Moderates at approximately 8:45am, and the L/T approximately at 8:46am.  This will be the "Classic" route that goes down Paseo Padre with usual regroups and stops for coffee at Paneras Pacific Commons and a return to the start via Coyote Hills (Nike anyone?).  Please check the ride listing for ridewithGPS route and cue sheet.

The temperature is expected to be hot on Monday so let's get our ride in early.  We can always shorten the ride if necessary. Be sure to bring sunscreen and lots of water!

We hope to see you there!

Fun Ride tomorrow!

Vijai Soori

Dear freewheelers!
This is a reminder that there’s a fun ride scheduled tomorrow. We’ll be doing a T,M paced 18 miles coyote hills loop starting from Bicycle a garage at 9 AM so it should be pretty cool at that time especially given that it’s closer to the bay. The ride calendar should give you all the details you need.

Last week’s social ride was fun and this week’s ride promises to be funner with all your mojo! See you all soon!
