Hi Freewheelers,

Attached are the route sheets for the Workers Rides on Sunday. Since Calaveras will not be open for us on Sunday all route sheets except the Fun Ride (25 mil) route sheet are significantly different to the actual Primavera route sheets. For riders of the Fun Ride please let me know if there are any errors on the route sheet. If there are issues with the route marking please let David Harcos (dharcos@...) know.

For riders of 100M, 100K and 85M routes I have attached 2 sets of route sheets to this email, the first set is the cue sheet generated from RideWithGPS, the second is the actual route sheets for the Primavera. The RideWithGPS route sheets will get you all the way around the Workers Rides but it’d be really nice if a few people used tested the actual Primavera Route sheets starting from the Sunol rest stop (where the Workers and Primavera routes converge). 

Remember to please print out your route sheet(s) before the ride on Sunday since it looks like we only have a confirmed ride leader for the 85 mile route. Thanks Julie G.!

All - Since I will be leading the M Pace 85 mile Workers' Ride on Sunday and need fresh legs I will not be riding/leading this Saturday's Fremont Hills ride. 

If here is someone who wants to  substitute as ride leader, please let me know by tomorrow noon; if no one by then, I'll cancel the ride and it will be a Show N Go.

I am cancelling today’s M ride.  It has been raining all night, and although it looks like it will stop at 8:00 in Fremont and 9:00 in San Jose, the reports are now saying possible showers starting up again around noon.  Tim O’Hara will be sending out his decision about the B ride shortly.

This ride now becomes a Show and Go.  If you do decide to ride, be careful—there is a lot of debris after this storm and the roads are very wet.

Meet at 9:00 for a 9:15 start.  We are riding to Alum Rock. Since REI isn't open use the facilities at Starbucks or wait until we reach the Alviso Adobe in Milpitas. 

We will ride along the foothills and once we get into the park, there are options to head straight to the Visitor's Center or climb the Inspiration Loop and/or Miguelita Road. Also, you don't have to go all the way to the park...you can turn early to coffee to reduce milage significantly. If you are a slow climber, but want to do the extra climbing, please be considerate of the group and turn around when you see the faster riders returning OR bring yourself to coffee on your own. 

We will have lunch at Noah's Bagels/Starbucks ($) before heading back on a flat route, with no regroups.

There will be two manned rest stops.  One at Sunol, and one at Rios Lovell Estate Winery.  The 100 mile route will go up Palomares from Niles Canyon, then over Dublin grade and down Foothill to Sunol.  It is about the same milage and elevation as getting to Sunol via Calaveras.  After that, riders will follow the Primavera Route with stops at the winery before and after Altamont.  The 85 mile route is the same as the 100 mile route, just skipping Altamont.

Most likely, the 100K will go up Niles Canyon to Sunol, then follow the 85 mile route, with one stop at Rios Lovell.

So, we need 2 rest stop volunteers, and a couple of SAG volunteers, as well as ride leaders

It would be wonderful if someone would also volunteer for rest stop on the Fun Ride at Coyote Hills.

1)  Century Route: since Calaveras Rd will not be open for the workers' ride, a route will be coming asap.  I need ride leaders for the M, B, & F pace riders, a volunteer (Rest Stop Captain) to take riders' lunches to the designated rest stop and a SAG.

2)  85 mile route: the route should be similar to the century route so a volunteer will take your lunches to the same designated rest stop.  I still need ride leaders for the M, B, & F pace riders.

3)  Metric Century route:  The route has yet to be determined and will be coming asap.  I need ride leaders for the M & B pace riders and a SAG to take the riders' lunches to the designated lunch stop.  

4)  Fun Ride:  I need a ride leader for this ride

Please let me know if you can step up and be a ride leader, SAG or Rest Stop Captain.
