MMRR - 4/16/18
Donna Luporini Kaplan
Dear Monday Morning Recovery Riders,
The weather reports for tomorrow do not look good (well, not good for bike riding, but good for the drought.) It’s looking like there will be rain for at least a couple of hours in the morning, perhaps more. We will check the reports again in the morning and will send out confirmation or cancelation by 6:30am.

Substitute for Saturday's Fremont Hills Ride?
Yahoo-Julie
All - Since I will be leading the M Pace 85 mile Workers' Ride on Sunday and need fresh legs I will not be riding/leading this Saturday's Fremont Hills ride. If here is someone who wants to substitute as ride leader, please let me know by tomorrow noon; if no one by then, I'll cancel the ride and it will be a Show N Go. For information: Cue sheet and sign in sheet attached - I'll make it as easy as I can for a sub! - Julie Gilson 510.468.0284

Route - Thursday Morning Coffee Ride
Lori Sommer
Hello Thursday Morning Coffee Riders, It looks like we will have no rain during the ride tomorrow! However, the winds are forecast to 20mph by noon and 22mph by 1PM. Since we are going across the bay, I plan to do a shorter ride (27mi, 500'). The coffee stop is Prolific Oven. If the winds are too bad, we may cut it short and also do a coffee break rather than a lunch break. You are welcome to park at the bridge (to cut about 6 miles) and you won't to deal with the wind on Marshlands at the end of the ride. I may do that also - meaning I will drive to the start, sign everyone in, drive to the end of the bridge, sign anyone in, get on my bike and meet everyone at the benches on the other side of the bridge. See you bright and early! Lori Thursday, April 12 WhenThu, April 12, 9:00am – 1:30pm WhereVisitor Center, Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge (map) DescriptionLength: 25-35 miles; Elevation: feet; Terrain: 2,3 Pace: T,M Meet at 9:00 for a 9:15 start from the Don Edwards Visitor Center (Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge, 1 Marshlands Rd, cross-street Thornton Ave, Fremont) and we head across the Dumbarton Bridge to various destinations. For a flat ride we head through East Palo Alto and along a few paths to Shoreline Park for lunch. For a ride with climbing, we do Woodside Road, Sand Hill/Whisky Hill, Alpine Loop, Arastradero or Edgewood Road. Sometimes the climbing is optional. We always stop for coffee and riders are welcome to head back on their own if they know the way. Usually we ride without route sheets so we regroup as necessary and no one is left behind. Bring $ for lunch. Extreme temperatures, construction or the whim of the ride leader may modify the route. Rain cancels, check https://ffbc.groups.io/g Lori Sommer lorimsommer@... 510-693-8624

I am cancelling today’s M ride. It has been raining all night, and although it looks like it will stop at 8:00 in Fremont and 9:00 in San Jose, the reports are now saying possible showers starting up again around noon. Tim O’Hara will be sending out his decision about the B ride shortly.
This ride now becomes a Show and Go. If you do decide to ride, be careful—there is a lot of debris after this storm and the roads are very wet.
See you next month. Donna

Hello folks,
Saturday is the 1st Saturday of the Month/ Calaveras Clockwise ride. We will be heading out to Alum Rock Park again because Calaveras is still closed. That said, the weather reports currently look iffy for Saturday. I will continue to check the reports and will send out a confirmation or cancelation of the ride on Saturday morning by 6:30 am. I hope to see you there! Donna Kaplan

The weather has been so iffy the past few weeks - it is supposed to stop raining soon, but radar shows rain is still in the area. The ride is canceled and becomes a show & go per club policy. Be careful if you ride - the roads will be wet.

PRS 13 - Sunday April 8 - Sierra Road / 50 mi / M Pace / 5 Terrain - 8:00 am Meet in Warm Springs
Yahoo-Julie
Sunday's last PRS of the series is a 'taper' ride before the Primavera event on 4/22. Club members that volunteer to help with the Primavera will have a supported 'Workers Ride' next week Sunday 4/15 (shameless request -- if you haven't yet signed up to volunteered, we'd love your help: Primavera Century click on Volunteers link on left to sign up). The weather forecast is good for Sunday's strenuous climb. I will lead an M pace ride; faster riders are welcome to ride ahead / do partial repeats on the hills (!). Cue sheet attached (excel & .pdf); please print and bring to start. Meet: 8:00 for 8:15 start Where: Starbucks at Mission and Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont - Warm Springs Plaza 46655 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539 Description: Despite Calaveras Road still closed at False Summit, we'll still climb Sierra Road, admire the view, then ride down Felter Road, detour down rural Marsh Road and back, then down to Ed Levin Park for water and bathroom break. Then back up and over the Wall to the False Summit on Calaveras. After our descent back to Milpitas, lunch/coffee at Starbucks/Noahs on N. Milpitas Road, then back to start. (bring snacks since the food stop is later in the ride). Rain, extreme heat or otherwise unsafe conditions cancels ride; ride leader will send notification by 6:30 am. Friday Bike Club Ride Is Canceled For 4/6/2018
Al Quintana
Let's end the "suspense" early. The "Pineapple Express" has already arrived in the Bay Area, and the forecast calls for the rain to continue into Saturday. Therefore, I am canceling tomorrow's Friday Bike Club Ride. Stay dry!
This ride now becomes a "Show and Go."

Time Change - Thursday Morning Coffee Ride
Lori Sommer
Good Morning! Tomorrow we are back to our "regular" start at 9AM. Come join us for a ride before the rain starts on Friday. If you'd like to meet along the way, please feel free to do so. If you text me in advance, and you have an Apple phone, I will invite you to follow me for the day on the app "Find Friends". Then you will know where the back of the group is located on the route and can easily join in. I hope to see you tomorrow! Lori Thursday, April 5 WhenThu, April 5, 9am – 1pm WhereREI, 43962 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, USA (map) DescriptionLength: 34 miles Terrain: 2, 3; Pace: T, M Meet at 9:00 for a 9:15 start. We are riding to Alum Rock. Since REI isn't open use the facilities at Starbucks or wait until we reach the Alviso Adobe in Milpitas. We will ride along the foothills and once we get into the park, there are options to head straight to the Visitor's Center or climb the Inspiration Loop and/or Miguelita Road. Also, you don't have to go all the way to the park...you can turn early to coffee to reduce milage significantly. If you are a slow climber, but want to do the extra climbing, please be considerate of the group and turn around when you see the faster riders returning OR bring yourself to coffee on your own. We will have lunch at Noah's Bagels/Starbuck Extre Lori Sommer: lorimso
