Randy,

Is this temporary or forever? I have not been keeping up with this.  I am sure I am not alone.

moderated Voler clothing order open to FFBC club members, fit party on Monday, Oct 29 7:30 - 9:30pm @ Centerville Community Center, 3355 Country Drive and Web Ordering Portal info

West Kurihara

Hello FFBC members,

For 2019 I am inviting any interested club members who would like to order custom Team Fremont clothing from Voler. This year I am opening the entire catalog of items which consist of Road, MTB, and Tri clothing with accessories and base layers. All clothing is from the Voler Custom catalog that is specially for teams and clubs. The road lineup has four price/quality/performance levels starting with the Club, Peloton, Pro and Velocity.  Most outerwear uses the Team Fremont design and sponsor logos but a few items are generic such as the crystal rain jacket and knee warmers. Base layers are also generic.

All clothing is custom made to your desire as Voler provides a wide variety of choices, materials and cuts (fit levels). At the fit party scheduled on Monday night, the Voler reps bring the entire clothing line in most sizes for people to try on for sizing.

The race team orders a large quantity and club members can take advantage of the volume pricing that we receive for custom clothing.

If you are curious or interested, please stop by on Monday. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me. Below are all the detailed info and links.

Just a Reminder of the Voler fit Party on Monday at the Team meeting location.  The Voler Reps will have the complete 2019 clothing collection in all sizes for fitting and should be able to answer any questions.  There are some new items and minor changes to the FS Pro lineup and Velocity line up.  Sizing basically remains the same.  Pricing is basically the same, but I think our price will be slightly higher this season because I don't think we will hit the 200+ item ordering threshold, I have asked that our portal reflect the 100-199 item pricing schedule.  If we end up in this quantity range, the pricing will be correct.  If we exceed, the pricing will be slightly lower and you will all receive a credit for the difference on your credit cards.  It is highly unlikely that we will be end up below 100 items but if that did occur, the actual pricing would end up slightly higher in the end.

As we did last year, I had Voler include the Road, TriAthlon, and MTB clothing line up and accessories.  As you move from Classic-->Peloton-->Pro-->Velocity the fit gets tighter and the materials more breathable/stretchy, but slightly less durable.   Peloton and Pro jerseys are available in Race or Club fits.

The Voler Team Fremont Portal is now open.  Everyone who had and account can log in.  If you are new, you will need to register.  Please remember to ALWAYS access the portal with this link:

And click on "Begin Ordering".

The 2019 design will be added to the graphics on the Website as soon as it is finalized.  If you have any design questions, you can direct them to Keith.

If you have any ordering questions, please ask.  Otherwise I will see you all on Monday night.

moderated Route - Thursday Morning Coffee Ride

Hi,
Here is a little route for tomorrow.

Sunol Start, Ruby Hills, The Vineyards and then to coffee.  25 miles, 1,000' elevation.  Please come!

WhenThu, October 25, 9am – 1pm
WhereSunol Train Station (map)
DescriptionLength: 25-35 miles
Terrain: 2, 3; Pace: T, M

This week the route starts from the gravel lot across from the Sunol Train Station.

There are lots of places we can go and sometimes a portion of the climbing is optional and mileage can be reduced. Our favorite destinations include the Corner Bakery or Peet's via Kilkare, the water tower and Bernal Bump or maybe out to Panama Red Coffee in Livermore by way of Sycamore Grove/Holdener Park or the climbs out by Signal Hill and the fun descent on Croak Road with lunch at Panera in Livermore. Another favorite is Denica's in Dublin via Windemere. Bring $ for coffee or lunch.

Extreme temperatures, construction or the whim of the ride leader may modify the route. Rain cancels, check https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics, email or call me.

Oops.  It turns out the start is at Sprouts, so hot about Linda's Ride?  Over the bridge.  Up Alpine, left onto Arastadero, Up a bit of Page Mill and along the top of the hills and then back Foothill.  I thought the starts alternated every week.  I did check the calendar, but I guess I misread it.  Oh well.  Should be great weather.

Meet at Old Mission Park 1000 Pine St. Fremont (driveway entrance on Ibero) at 8:45am for a 9am roll time.  Skipping animals backwards, we will head to the Calaveras and Wall climbs and u-turn at the false summit.  Hoping to enjoy one more nearly car-free ride before Calaveras is open to through traffic!  Snack/Food at Noah's/Starbucks.  Return route Mission or Paseo Padre for a final climb - that's up to you!

Wear a FFBC club jersey and let's stay close to home. We will meet at Sprouts located in the former Raley's Shopping Center (6399 Jarvis Ave, Newark).

We will mainly stay in Fremont but ride through Newark and sometimes Union City and Milpitas on occasion. Sometimes the climbing is optional. We always stop for coffee and riders are welcome to head back on their own if they know the way. Usually we ride without route sheets so we regroup as necessary and no one is left behind. Bring $ for lunch.

Extreme temperatures, construction or the whim of the ride leader may modify the route. Rain cancels, check https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics, email or call! me!

moderated FOR SALE - 2" KUAT NV

Lori Sommer

Hello,

I'm selling my used, grey and orange, 2" hitch attached Kuat NV rack that is about 4-5 years old.   It carries two bikes, has the work stand on top, an integrated locking system and can be extended to carry four bikes (if you buy the second rack).  It has been well used so it has a few dings in the powder coat.  As lots of you know, I LOVE that Kuat bike rack.  I love it so much I bought a new one, a Sherpa 2.0, that is 21lbs lighter since I will be transferring the rack between two cars.

Kuat has great customer service.  In fact, I chatted online to complain that the cam system seemed to be loosening up occasionally in the hitch (it also has an additional locking pin so there was never a chance it would fall off) and they just sent me replacement parts for the cam system as well as two new racket arms all for free, no paperwork involved.  About a month ago they sent me a new front wheel scoop, also free!

I think I paid about $500 for it.  Make me a reasonable offer (offline please or text) and it is yours.  I'd love for it to go to someone in the club!
