Hello Everyone,

Can anyone suggest an expert bike fitter? Someone who has background knowledge of physical therapy or kinesiology.

I bought my first road bike just a few years ago, had the bike fit where they focused on knee angle. I didn't have any problems with pain, maybe because of all traffic lights I was moving all the time.

Life changes and now I do rides indoors on my smart trainer 2x/week sometimes 3. I had inner knee pain/discomfort with my left knee, kept going and it got worse then my right knee was sore. I stopped, rested, ice etc, etc I took off my SPD and put on flat pedals. I was hit n miss riding, mostly missing. With Primavera coming I started riding indoors again regularly and inner left knee pain is back. So, clipped or flats I'm having the same problem and need this fixed asap. If you know of a professional bike fitter (not a company trained one) please let me know.

Thanks,
Cinnamon

Subject: [public info] Brisk PRS #5-Top of Felter/Sierra Road + Calaveras False Summit on Saturday (1/29/22: 8:30AM)

When:  It's going to be a scenic rolling hill ride.  We will be meeting at 8:30am and will roll at 8:45am.

Where:  Buena Vista Park (street parking)

Please download this latest RWGPS route onto your ride computer device: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38431063

No cue sheet will be handed out and no riders will be left behind.

All riders need to be fully vaccinated.  Bring a mask and use it as needed per CDC guidelines for COVID safety.

Routes and Rest Stops:

First water and restroom stop will be at Alviso-Adobe Park (mile 12.5). Then we will re-group at the top of Felter/Sierra Road and check out the scenery¬†at the top and report if the parking lot is full or not ūüôā.¬†

Then descend down to Calaveras and climb back up the wall and onto the false summit while enjoying the green rolling hills and checking out the reservoir from afar.

After a re-group at the false summit, then stop by the Alviso-Adobe Park again for water and use of restrooms. (mile 44.5)

Please bring 2 bottles (more if you want) for hydration.  Now is a good time, I believe, to enjoy the green hills in this cooler weather without needing as much hydration.  I hope that everyone has a chance to stop (safely) and take photos along the way in the hills.

Mark will be leading the ride with me.  See you on Saturday!

Fifth Monday MMRR

Robert Tashjian

This Monday is a special edition of the MMRR ‚Äď The Monday Morning Donut Ride. We will circle the south bay and return via the Bay Trail and Dumbo Bridge, with a coffee/donut stop at Rogers Deli & Donuts in Mt. View. Yes, you can get sandwiches/bagels/other things there also. The ride is only a little longer than our usual routes at 48 miles, M paced, and the entire route is paved. Usual start across from Isherwood Staging, meet at 8:30 for an 8:45 roll. Usual pickups at Paseo/Stevenson and Paseo/Grimmer (be about 10 minutes early as we‚Äôre skipping the usual loop at the beginning of the ride).

Let me know if you’re going to ride(and a donut preference if you care), I’m going to order donuts ahead of time to ensure a good selection and I’d like to have an approximate count.

Cinderella Reg, anyone interested?

Hello Everyone,

A long time ago I signed up for the Primavera and the Cinderella rides because they were 3 weeks apart. Everything was cancelled and I let my registrations ride over.

Now they are back to back so I can't do both rides. Does anyone wants the Cinderella registration, 100K ride on April 9th? Can you spread the word?

Thanks,

Cinnamon

C: 510-508-7219
ron_m_ffwbc@...

Wear a FFBC club jersey and let's stay close to home. We will meet at Sprouts located in the former Raley's Shopping Center (6399 Jarvis Ave, Newark).

The specific route for this third Thursday of the month repeating ride will be posted here (with an attachment for you to print) as well as to the FFBC email groups (https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics ) once it is selected.  This is usually done a day or maybe two days before the ride.  Sometimes we ride without route sheets so we regroup as necessary and no one is left behind.

We will mainly stay in Fremont but ride through Newark and sometimes Union City and Milpitas on occasion. Sometimes the climbing is optional. We always stop for coffee ($) and riders are welcome to head back on their own.

DISCLAIMERS:
This is a no drop ride but the group can be on the larger side and will break up as we progress along the route especially as it is a T/M ride.  Riders are expected to be proficient in following their route sheet or using their GPS in case they are separated. We will wait at regroups for all riders.

Extreme temperatures, poor air quality, park closure, construction, rain and/or high winds,  or the whim of the ride leader may modify or cancel the route. Check here for updates: info@ffbc.groups.io.
