Hello FFBC,

This Sunday, weather permitting, we will try again to go on our weekly PRS ride. This ride is an out-and-back, starting in Livermore. We’ll ride out to Mines Road, then up to the Junction Café, and return back to the start: 62 miles and 4480 ft. elevation gain.  At the time of this e-mail, there is no leader for the M+ group, but we will bring a sign-in sheet for the impromptu ride leader.  

Please take note:

• Daylight Saving Time starts at 2:00am on Sunday, so be sure to set your clocks ahead on Saturday!
• Please print the attached cue sheet.
Bring plenty of food and water. The Junction Café is a bar & grill with mostly pub food—burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, fries, etc. They serve coffee and sodas (and beer.) 
Wear layers; it can be quite cool at the summit. (Last year there was snow!)  
Don’t expect cell phone service.
Bring two tubes.

 

Rain, significant chance of rain, or poor riding condition cancels. A ride cancellation email will be sent to https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics on the morning of the ride if it is being cancelled (no email means the ride is on.) If you are unsure of the ride status, call or text one of us on the morning of the ride.

PRS #10: Mines Road to the Junction

When     Sun, March 10, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Where    Lucky's parking lot in Livermore, Concannon and Holmes (map)

Description    Length: 63 miles; Elevation: 4481 feet Terrain: 4; Pace: M

Meet at 8:30 am for an 8:45 am start. This ride is an out and back on Mines Road in Livermore to the Junction at Del Puerto Canyon. Meet in the parking lot of Lucky’s in Livermore (Concannon and Holmes). Bring plenty of food; the Junction Café may be open for business, but at times is not. The nearby CDF Sweetwater station has a public restroom and furnishes water for riders on weekends. Please be respectful of this wonderful accommodation.
