LAS #1 San Ramon Loop with Croak Road
Lori Sommer
Hello FFBC Members, Sunday we will kickoff our Less Aggressive Series (LAS) formerly (and also known as) the Less Aggressive Progressive (LAP). Please note we will use LAP/LAS interchangeably this year on our routes and route sheets. For 2020, we've taken out the progressive portion to allow us to have some time on two Sundays a month to take a break from riding. We still plan on lots of fun portions of our routes but this change allows less miles for the sake of adding miles (to meet progressive requirements) and it also allows riders freedom to come and go on our rides without worrying they will be left behind because the mileage and elevation have progressed too much while they were away. So more like regularly scheduled rides a couple times a month. This Sunday we are doing the San Ramon Loop. We've made a "last minute" change to the route and added the descent on Croak Road back in. The new PDF route sheet is attached. Please print it and bring it to the ride. The link to the route remains the same: We hope you will join us! (map) DescriptionMILEAGE/ELEVATION GAIN: 33 mi / 1234’ PACE: T, M Join us for the first LAS ride which will be held a couple Sunday's a month, January through March. We will start at the Park & Ride lot in San Ramon at Bollinger Canyon and I-680. It’s located between the Chevron station and I-680, on the south-side of Bollinger Canyon. There are restrooms we can use at the Chevron station. We will make a clockwise loop heading north to Danville, then taking Camino Tassajara in a long arc on down to the city of Dublin. At mile 21, we will stop for refreshments at Panera Bread. We will maintain a Touring through Moderate pace (10 to 16 mph). No drops and regroups as needed. Most of the LAS routes can be modified to reduce mileage and climbing and you are always welcome to join mid-route, skip coffee/lunch, leave early or ride off the front – just let us know. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/18346780 We will send out PDF versions of our ridewithgps.com route sheet via email to FFBC’s https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics a few days before each ride. We ask that you print and bring it to the ride. The link to the route on ridewithgps.com is available for downloading and will have listed regroups for LAS #1. Ride cancellation email will be sent to https://ffbc.groups.io/g/info/topics by the ride leader on the morning of the ride if it is being cancelled (no email means the ride is on). Extreme weather or construction may modify the route and rain cancels. If you are unsure of the ride status, call or text us on the morning of the ride. Come join us!
