What is wrong with doing both?

Thanks, Joe.  I also learned that we should call clear when turning or crossing an intersection, but I can see the merit of not calling as well since everyone does need to take responsibility for themselves.

Thanks for sending out information.
I learned that it’s okay for rear rider to yell clear when the group is moving over to take lane for various reasons.
I also learned that when crossing intersection or turning left ( or right) we should not yell clear.   Every  rider needs to look and make sure for themselves .

Thanks again for information.

With CCRS, LAS and PRS kicking off, we will be riding in larger than usual groups with newer riders and people with whom we are not used to riding.  Safety and etiquette will be very important for us to have incident-free rides that we all can enjoy.  To that end, Bob M. has put several useful links on a "Safety, Training and Gear" page:  http://ffbc.org/member-services/useful-bike-information-and-websites-part-1/.

Newer riders, please explore the information in the first six links.  You will learn about etiquette, hand signals, calling out hazards, riding in a group, etc.  Feel free to ask experienced riders for tips.  Experienced riders, please be role models and don't be shy about coaching riders when needed.

Be safe, and have fun riding!
